As finals week inched closer to being complete the Boys Frosh and JV squads welcomed Washington High School (Fremont, CA) for a pair of games on Thursday night. The Freshmen continued their on-the-floor dominance rolling to yet another win, while the JV looked to break their winless season, but collapsed in the 3rd quarter like a Jenga set being used by first graders.

In the opening game, the Freshmen comfortably led the Huskies by double-digits for much of the game. Their superior energy on the court led to 2nd chance points, offensive rebounds, and transition buckets. Noah "Downtown" Brown lit up the scoreboard, dropping 27 points on the evening. Devin Thai added three treys on the night. Coach Ajay Singh was able to empty the bench on the evening as the entire roster was able to get in on the action.

The JV hoped to capitalize on the Freshman team's positive energy and did come out swinging against the JV Huskies. They were able to connect on 50%/25%/71% shooting in the first quarter and took a 16-9 lead in the 2nd quarter. While shooting much worse in the 2nd, they grabbed key offensive rebounds, and still outscored Washington 16-10. The Vikes led at half 32-19.

Adapting with a stronger pressing presence in the 3rd quarter, the Huskies were able to hold Lynbrook from scoring for several minutes of play, going on a 12-0 run in which the Vikes looked about as confident as a slow runner in Pamplona. With the game being essentially tied going into the fourth the two teams ground to a crawl in the points department trading baskets intermittently. The Vikes held a 44-41 lead with 2:53 left in the game, but wouldn't score for the remainder of the playing time. The Huskies scored four, and the Vikes last attempt at a shot was passed in cleanly but panic ensued and no shot was even taken. While the Vikes had blown a 13 point lead and dropped to 0-6 on the year, the few bright spots were 17 points from "Big Tonka" Yu and 11 added by "JJ" Jung.

Both teams have three games to play over the next four days.
