Wednesday night was a great one for Boys Basketball as all three teams dominated in their back-to-back-to-back games. The Freshman took on Sacred Heart Prep while the JV and Varsity played MacDonald High School.
The Freshmen had a good first half against the visiting gators and took a 12 point lead into halftime 29-17, but blew the game open in the 3rd and never looked back. They dominated the 3rd quarter 17-2, thanks in part to near back-to-back threes by "Kris Kross" Joshi who scored 16 on the night. "Downtown" Brown scored 13 in the game, including 9 in the opening quarter. 10 Vikings would score in the 57-26 victory.
The JV came to play, obliterating the Condors from MacDonald in the 1st quarter, and basically ending the game after eight minutes. Lynbrook rocked the first three quarters, 25-5, 14-8, and 20-6 before things cooled during running clock. The JV's victory of 66-26 represented their biggest margin of the year. "Big Tonka" Yu scored 18 points in about 14 minutes of play. "Yay Area" Sadhu scored 11 in his best game of the season. All 10 players in the lineup scored. The Vikes will play MacDonald away in a few weeks. With the victory, the Vikings improve to 4-2 in league play after their disastrous 1-9 non-league start.
Varsity kept the train rolling with a strong victory powered by "Lil Puddle" Dwivedi, "Charlie Buckets" Loper, and "Old Man Jheri Curl" Sun. The Vikings quickly outpaced the Condors and held a 25-14 lead at half. The lead was expanded to 39-21 at the end of the 3rd, and the game closed out 53-26 with a dominant 4th quarter. Next for Varsity is rival Monta Vista at home on Friday night.
