It was a celebratory night for the Viking Basketball program on Friday as the Girls program honored their three seniors and the Boys program honored their four seniors. Maggie Lam, Nicole Ge, and Lily Feng were honored and then celebrated by wiping out visiting Palo Alto High School. Eric "EZ Breezy" Huang, Sriharsha "Free the Sri" Kadiyala, Dhruv "Dru Down" Ghosh, and Dean "D.O.C." Pakel were honored and then played in a much more competitive matchup against visiting Cupertino than in their first matchup.

The Viking boys got things started off with a jumper by Ghosh after Cupertino grabbed an early lead. The Pioneers led from the start and never looked back, always keeping a buffer of several baskets between their score and the Vikings. At the half, the score was 22-10 Pioneers. Huang hit the Vikings' only three of the game late in the fourth quarter. Multiple steals by Pakel and seven points from Kadiyala couldn't bring the game to a close one, but the Vikings eventual 43-27 loss was a far cry from the first matchup in which they lost by 32 points.

With their victory on Monta Vista earlier in the week, the Vikings are eligible for the CCS playoffs and will likely receive a seeding somewhere in the vicinity of 12.

The JV boys came out a bit slow against Cupertino in the first game of the day, but with a decent crowd watching, and Varsity players decorating the gym for senior night, Lynbrook slowly advanced their lead with outside shooting. Come the fourth quarter, the Vikes suddenly blew open the doors and took a ten-point lead into more than a twenty point lead. With the Victory, Lynbrook secured the El Camino JV title. The JV Vikes have one more game remaining, a home matchup against MacDonald on Monday.
