The Freshman Boys Basketball team traveled to Capuchino Saturday to play their last "Saturday on the Peninsula" game of the season. The team, who has traveled North up the peninsula five times this season on weekends, found this last trip to be a disappointing one in a 28 minute game. The Vikings came out poorly and missed on their first six shot attempts, and managed to lead at the end of the first only due to six points scored off of steals.

The 2nd quarter saw more offensive stalling and the team play elements completely failed them. The Mustangs were able to pull ahead to lead at the half by seven points due largely to a full court press that forced the Vikes into several disastrous turnovers. During the 3rd quarter, the Viking fought back and outscored the Mustangs by seven points leading to a fourth quarter tie. Unfortunately for Lynbrook, the run didn't continue, and the team failed to score for the final 4:45 of the seven-minute period. While the Mustangs couldn't bury the Vikings, they outlasted them as Lynbrook couldn't put a dent in the lead.

Leading the Vikings was Kevin Li, who scored 14 points while grabbing five rebounds. This went against a generally poor shooting day, in which the Vikes shot 38/8/63. The Frosh will complete their schedule this upcoming week with games against Milpitas and Mountain View - both of which defeated the Vikings earlier in the season. The Vikes currently stand at 9-13.
